History
Brief: |
The original settlers came in 1716 and the �plantation on the mountain east of Hartford� was opened for general settlement by an act of the General Assembly in May 1718. The area was first called Hartford Mountains and then Hanover but when the General Assembly established the town in 1720, it selected the name Bolton. Town vital records begin 1720. |
