History Brief:
Originally part of Norwich and the Parish of West Farms, it was set off as the Parish of New Concord or the Fourth Society of Norwich in 1737. In 1786, the inhabitants requested to be recognized as the town of Bath but the General Assembly selected the Biblical name, Bozrah for incorporation. Town vital records begin 1700. Barbour collection records cover 1786-1850.
